Record requests go to the custodian. Lynchburg Residents Directory does not hold deeds, court files, property cards, voter records, vital certificates, or library collections. Contact the office or library that controls the record.
Looking for a Specific Record?
The quickest official route depends on the record type:
- Who owns a parcel or a property record: use the City Assessor and Parcel Viewer.
- Recorded deeds, plats, probate, or court files: contact the Lynchburg Circuit Court Clerk.
- Historic directories, obituaries, newspapers, or microfilm: ask Jones Memorial Library's research desk.
- Election registration or polling-place service: contact the Lynchburg Registrar or Virginia Elections.
- Existing city records not online: make a focused request through the City's Virginia FOIA process.
